Ladies of the Blues @ Hudson Hall

  • Hudson Hall at the historic Hudson Opera House 327 Warren Street Hudson, NY 12534 (map)

“A trumpeter of abundant poise” (New York Times) Dominick Farinacci leads “history in the making" (Boston Globe) vocalist and lady of the blues Shenel Johns in this modern retrospective of the legendary ladies of blues past and present. Joined by a quartet of today’s top young jazz artists, Farinacci and Johns span the early blues of Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday up to the iconic works of Dinah Washington, Nina Simone and other leading voices of the blues.

TICKETING INFORMATION:
Tickets: $25 patron, $35 premium

Dominick Farinacci was one of eighteen artists worldwide invited to be a part of the inaugural class of the Jazz Studies Program at the Juilliard School and has since risen the jazz ranks to share stages and recordings with such artists as Wynton Marsalis, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Mulgrew Miller.

A dynamic jazz performer that commands the stage with an intrepid and lively spirit, Shenel Johns has a unique ability to communicate to audiences regardless of language barriers or contrasting cultures, which was recently demonstrated in her recent residencies at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Shanghai and Doha.
