Nealand, a prominent force in the New Orleans jazz scene, is an innovative, sensitive, and daring performer acclaimed as one of the top soprano sax players in the country.

Nealand's Royal Roses grew out of the rich resurgence of hot jazz in New Orleans amongst the younger generation of musicians. Their album “A Tribute to Sidney Bechet” was recorded live in New Orleans’ Preservation Hall and released to national acclaim. Along with honoring the legendary Bechet, Nealand’s appearance in the series will also celebrate the tri-centennial of the Crescent City, the birthplace of jazz.
